Poem - What do I want for Christmas..

What do I want for Christmas?

Some really want to know,

But when I ask myself, what gift I'd want?

I should REALLY know.

Is it a surprise present, wrapped in shiny paper,

Or something, that just shows just how much you REALLY care.

A card with a heartfelt message, that makes me laugh and cry,

Is your soul now on display, with that personal message inside?

Is it a feast with all the family, and some friends as well

the table overflowing, with food and drink, and crackers banging everywhere?

Or telling all those silly jokes that they all seem to contain,

Or wearing paper hats, that slip right down your eyes and face.

What do I want for Christmas? you know I don’t know

Is it everyone singing, most of us are out of key,

Or the kids reciting, parts they had, with the school pageantry,

Or just to see, everyone’s mood, as they all burst into song and cheer.

Sometimes the present that you get, are really all right here

When we all remember stories, of all those past years.

It can remind you of those faraway places you’ve seen

Or a moment of simple peace and grace.

What do I want for Christmas? Sometimes money just can’t buy

It could be an emotional thing or something I can dream

Or something that satisfies my senses,

Or, something I’ve seen in a game, which, may have been on here.

Oh what do I want for Christmas, Someone asked me, I know?

I asked for printers inks, to keep the paper flowing

to show my experiences now on offer,

Or something I can buy and then I can wear.

Oh what I'd want for Christmas, it just came into my head.

I’d like my dentures back with two front teeth so I can wear them.

Oh yes, it’s a materialistic thing, so don’t stay tight-lipped anymore.

I could go out with confidence and just grin and wear, it.

Oh what do I want for Christmas, are the voices in my head

Sometimes, I reveal what I want, in poems and in verse

So don’t just sit there, tell others what you want

And make this Christmas, special to someone,

by giving them what they want.

Merry Christmas everyone,

I need to switch off now

So I can say, how happy I am
