Hi everyone! I’m 53 and am starting a new life in my own, which I’m finding quite difficult after 23 years of marriage. I left my husband due to long term DM which has resulted in 6 TIA’s and 4 brain aneurysms (clipped during 12 hrs of brain surgery two years ago!) I’ve never been on benefits until now, so looking forward to getting some advice and support from here. I have problems with memory which affect lots of things and depression. I’m on enhanced PiP and UC but just had my health assessment cancelled so waiting to find out from them. Xx

Hello @Pugmummy1
Welcome to the community! I am so sorry to hear about your situation. Can I ask, do you have support around you?
I have popped your post into our benefit and financial support section of the forum. I'd encourage you to use a benefits calculator to see if there is any other support available0 -
UC has replaced all other means tested benefits. As you're waiting for your work capability assessment and you're currently claiming PIP. The only other benefit that maybe possible to claim is council tax reduction, which can be claimed from your local Authority.
