U-Turns
Have you ever made a very sudden or dramatic “U-Turn” with regards your views on a certain subject?
For clarification, a U-Turn is where you change your views on something, often very suddenly rather than gradually.
| would be interested in hearing about them, and the circumstances that caused the change, if you are willing to share of course.
They can be as serious or as trivial as you like!
I will share one as an example…
I used to frown upon the idea of owning a car, I saw it as pointless, why pay thousands for insurance when I could literally get a taxi every time I want to go out and still spend less than owning a car? Mum offered to pay for driving lessons, I accepted her offer, didn’t look back. I don’t think I need to even explain that I now have the complete opposite view on driving!

I used to hate a certain social media app with a firey passion a few years back. Then I got a job working alongside them and learned to enjoy it, I still use it to this day.
U turns are perfectly normal, they're often just a way of us being a bit nervous of the unknown, or things we don't know much about.2 -
This is a fun question @66Mustang!
I went the opposite way to you with the driving thing. I was so excited to finally learn to drive, this was only a year or two ago so I was older than a lot of people who learn, but felt ready for it. I had all the lessons and enjoyed them, worked really hard to learn all the stuff you need to pass. I saved up for a car and bought it, so excited to drive everywhere and have freedom. Passed my test second time, yay! Freedom.
Started driving independently... Immediately hated it. Still not a fan now! But perhaps I'll have another u-turn eventually!1 -
That's really interesting @Rosie_Scope!!!1
