They are lovely @Steve_in_The_City thanks for sharing a picture. I love the colour of the stem, mustard yellow is my favourite colour. :D

I reckon they are sherry glasses but may well be wrong! P.S. Don't blame you for not using them, I always like to say stuff is meant to be used but with something so precious I know I would end up breaking it if it was me.

@66Mustang Gran's drink was Scotch, and lots of it! I measured the capacity of the glasses and allowing for spill room they hold 58ml. In the 60's and 70's they had sherry schooner glasses, but a tad complicated to discuss!

I wasn't going to upload this picture because the bear in question has a bit of history attached and comes from quite a chequered background. He is an orphan. He was quite famous for a while in the early '70's and is a one-off creation. I wonder if anyone knows his history? (I ain't telling). I first got to know him shortly after he was born through means that were both fair and foul and then I met him many times until finally he came into my possession in the early 80's. I used to keep him locked away in a cupboard and he only saw the light of day when friends came around for dinner when I would put him out as a table ornament, so he has been present at all of my happiest moments. But now I leave him on the dining table all the time. He is beautiful to look at and my photo doesn't do him justice. I hope you like him.

@vikingqueen No, he's not knut, but like Knut he has no brothers or sisters or a keeper to protect him (except for me). I haven't named him - he is the bear with no name - but he was more famous than Knut!

@Ada You got it! Foxes Glacier Mints. He was on the tv for a while in a lot of advertisements, but then they did a cartoon character. But my little bear is the original. There are copies of him and the cartoon all over the internet. He was made by a craftsman in Wedgwood Glass in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.
