Hello, my husband receives 95% IIDB as he suffers from Pulmonary Fibrosis and Asbestos Related Pleural Plaques, diagnosed 10 years ago. His last assessment for his condition was in April/May last year. He was granted 100% Attendance Allowance early last year for 2 years reviewable in December 2024 - so far so good. However, he received a letter from DWP regarding AA followed by further DWP IIDB letter stating that his Attendance Allowance would now be paid at 40% and 60% Constant Attendance Allowance payable by IIDB - the total payment exactly the same as before under AA. We are at a loss to understand the reason for this as there has been no further assessment of his condition and the letter from IIDB is incomprehensible. As his carer I don't have the time to wait hours for a phone call to be answered. Is there anyone out there who could offer an explanation please? I should add that we did not apply for Constant Attendance Allowance - really perplexed.
