Hello, I have a question. I wanted my bathroom to be changed. Due to my health condition, I can no longer use the bathtub or take a shower in my current bathroom. A lady came, looked at it and said okay, and today someone called.
Life Environmental Services told me that they would come to my house in two days, my council asked them to come, I said okay, but I don't know exactly what they will do and why they will come. Can anyone with information please inform me, I am already under a lot of stress, and this makes me feel bad and so worry thanks

Hi @lndbeyaz0, I'm sorry to hear you're under a lot of stress currently.  Did the person you spoke to on the phone not say what was going to happen? Do you have a number you can call to get a bit of clarity?

Ah so it sounds like they'll be coming to survey the house and see what can be done for you. They'll need to be able to see your property before they can advise on any changes that can be made. :)

So, I don't have anything to worry about? and actually when that woman came, she said wet shower, but honestly, I have two sons and if I asked them for a walk in shower because I was worried about getting wet everywhere and slipping, would they do it?

I can't say for certain if they can put in a walk in shower @lndbeyaz0, but you can always give them a call and ask if that's a service they could provide? They'll probably be able to give you more answers when they've had a look at the property, it's very hard for them to give answers until they've had a look around, but it's nothing to worry about.

I'm sorry, but do you know anything about these services, what exactly do they do Life Environmental Services?

Hello, I think you should ring the council again and ask them who they are sending. Ask for a contact name and number, a reference number and what time you should expect the visit.

If you need more time to prepare for this, ask for a new date and time - a morning or an afternoon to suit you.

It's great you've been offered a new wetroom so well done to you!

Thanks But if only it had been something that was done for renew or fun maybe I could have been  happy, but unfortunately, due to my illness and since it was very difficult for me to take a bath anymore, I asked them to do it. They came and looked at it, and they agreed, but still, I would like to thank everyone who helped me with everything and their support. Thank you, even my family didn't give me this much help and support.

Hi @Indbeyaz0 - as far as I can see Life Environmental Services seem to be Health & Safety consultants (who also consider any environmental issues, as their name suggests) contracted by your council to ensure that best practices will be used in sorting out your bathroom. Please see: https://www.lifeenvironmental.co.uk/about  Hope this helps, & you'll enjoy your new wet room once it's sorted, as it will make things easier for you.

A wet room is easier to clean rather than a walk in cubicle, with a weteoom, the floor has a slight gradient to a drain, water doesn't go everywhere, and u can request a pole for a shower curtain to create a wall so water isn't splashed liked crazy . Most councils now utilise the sub contractors for speciality works, like disability adaptions etc. And because it's sub contractors doing the work, if your not happy tell them, or the council, they don't get there fee till its signed off.
    Hope this helps.
I had the same issue, I'll health, and a genetic condition made bathing dangerous, even climbing over bath for a shower became deadly.
I fell against bath and broke 4x ribs, I've now got a walk in shower.
