does you have:
autism and/or mental health conditions + did a care needs assessment and/or a carer's needs assessment. if you didn't do any of these assessments, what sort of social care do you get?
(im asking about these because i happen to be both a carer and a disabled person so i want to hear from you kind people about both of these assessments.)
if you fit any of the above... I would like to kindly ask you: what was your experience from start to finish? and mostly im interested to know what the support outcomes are? anything else you want to mention would be great
i just wanted to know if its worth it for me to go through the process because ive been through PIP previously (which, was very bad but i won the tribunal!) but if the final outcome will help me like pip helped me i want to know if its worth it. is it worth me going through assessments like this?
Thank you and whether you reply with a sentence or a paragraph I am grateful and open to hear what you are willing to share to help me
Thank you

It was ok having a needs assessment. They did a financial assessment as well to see what I could afford to contribute towards the support package. They did things to start with like an amount of hours per week with a support worker, to be able to do things like leisure activities and also to do work placements together. It can also identify the need for housing, like for instance they did a new needs assessment when I needed to move to a care home. I remember I had respite before as well because of my needs assessment when I was living with my parents.0

Hi, how do I get a sociel care Assesment? I was diagnosed with autism when I was 14 and I’ve constantly been under MH services that have no idea what to do with me and I’m getting really frustrated now. Idk what to do anymore and this sounds something that might be useful to me. Thanks.

I had to have a Care Needs Assessment - in order to get a few odds and ends to make my life easier - it was carried out by a woman from my LA rather than NHS.
She wrote down copious notes during the assessment then denied carrying out any assessment after 3 months - when I asked for the results of it !!
Eventually - she told me that she HAD carried out a full assessment and gave me the results extremely reluctantly - because she knew that it would mean that her department had to spend some money (I had a few grab rails fitted, a bed step and a pull to help me get out of bed).
Despite having had a Financial Assessment (which I knew that I would fail), NHS provided me with an adjustable bed and a power wheelchair.
