Hi everyone, I have an assessment on Monday, I suffer for depression, anxiety and panic attacks. I was in an abusive marriage for many years but mange to get out of it, however now my mental health is suffering I am currently on Sertraline and propranolol and receiving therpy. I am also a single mother to my special needs children and my son’s carer. I am so worried about the assessment and suffering really bad anxiety due to it, I feel like they won’t awarded me as I a looking after the kids but I have no option as my kids have no one else. I have panic attacks just thinking about. Any advice will be helpful thank you Hanna.

Hey @hanna_83 and welcome to the community.
I totally understand the anxiety getting the better of you, but we're all here to support you if you need it. As said above, you only ever hear about the bad assessments, not the good ones. I've had some lovely, caring assessors before and they really put me at ease during my assessments.
They will be looking at how your health issues affect each of the descriptors, preferably with real life examples, so if you can answer those, you won't have a problem. Just take your time with your answers and if you're struggling, please let the assessor know.
But if they do turn you down, there's still the route of mandatory reconsiderations to do down, so it wont be the end of it all. I know saying please don't worry won't help the anxiety, but we're all here if you need us.Albus (he/him)
