Hi please can anyone help ? I was finally awarded NHS ill health retirement after appeals, whi h was backdated to when i lost my job. When the money came through i paid off some of my huge mortgage [ I had just finished a fixed rate & interest paymends were over £2000 /mnth!!!] which I couldn't pay. I've informed the Council i no longer get Income related ESA but now really worried i may have to pay back council tax support i received for the years i should have but didnt get my IH pension [ don't have the money anymore will I lose my home !! ??]

I’m afraid all local authorities have their own rules for council tax reduction so I wouldn’t be able to advise on that. You will need to contact them and tell them.I don’t think you would lose your home because of council tax reduction.0
