If this is a lump sum then it will be treated as capital for your UC Claim. If this takes your total capital to more than £6,000 then there will be a deduction in your UC of £4.35/month for every £250 or part thereof over £6,000.0

Yeah thanks I'm disabled my partner and I claim UC she also gets state pension carers element she is due some money do we tell uc when we get it or wait for them to contact uswill they just take it as a one off payment or further deductions thanks sorry my first post was a bit vague0

If the money takes your total savings to more than £6,000 then you will need to report the changes. If your savings will be more than £16,000 then your UC will end.
If you're claiming council tax reduction all local Authorities have their own rules and some have a maximum savings limit of £6,000 before entitlement ends. You will need to report changes to them if it's more than £6,000.0 -
Also my partner is part of the UC claim but they disregard that money coz she gets state pension0

Yes, I know you're claiming UC as a couple, you're known as a mixed aged couple. Your partners state pension is deducted in full from your UC.
What do you mean by "they disregard that money" what money do they disregard?0 -
I mean the pension is knocked off the UC amount but we are allowed to keep the carer's element!0

That's because carers element is part of UC.0
