Hello.
I am new here and am looking for some more info about LCWRA.
I am on sick notes since 20th of October 2023 as I have been diagnosed with Arthritis on my right hip. I was sent the form to fill in about my condition and had a phone medical assessment on the 23rd of March 2024.
If awarded LCWRA will it get backdated from the 20th of October 2023 or only from when I sent the forms in before the assessment?
Thank you

I get payed UC on the 26th of each month

If found to have LCWRA providing you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element then you will be entitled to extra money from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note.
There's a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods and then it's paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that month. It's not paid at all during the waiting period.
You must continue to provide fit notes until a decision is made on your claim, as you haven't yet had your assessment, a decision could take quite a few weeks yet.
Your waiting period will be Oct to Jan.. LCWRA starts from 20th Jan to 19th Feb and first payment will be 26th Feb. Up to now they owe you 1 month.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

Opinions are my own, such as mashed potato being bad. -
I am on UC single and already had my assessment was made by phone on the 23th February 2024 (only now I noticed I wrote the wrong date on my initial message). If awarded will the payment be backdated to the 1st month of assessment?
