Hi my name is Steve.
I'm looking for some advice with regards to what I find the long and daunting task of applying for PIP.
I started my claim 22/12/2023 and had a telephone assessment 7/03/2024. My concern is any decision made might not come until after my state pension age which is 15/06/2024.
If this is the case will it mean I wouldn't be entitled to PIP as I'm over state pension age or will the award be granted from the date I first applied which was 22/12/2023 which means I was under state pension age.
I hope I have explained my predicament clearly and any comments and clarity on this situation will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Steve.

If awarded you will receive everything that’s owed because you were under state pension age before you applied.

If the worst happens and you’re refused and decide to challenge the decision and you’re awarded either at MR or Tribunal stage then it will be from when you applied. PIP will then continue for as long as you remain entitled to it.
