Carer package and PIP

Hello,

I get the high mobility rate PIP but nothing for daily living. I just couldnt handle going through another assessment by asking for a reconsideration at the time as the first ine was horrible and they did not listen to anything i said.My PIP award was extended for another year while they complete a review but I have just recently been given a care package from the council adult social services and have been prescribed morphine patches for the pain. Do I need to inform PIP of the care package and new medication? Also if I do, will payments stop? Many thanks for any information.

As you are waiting for an assessment for your review you can just send PIP extra evidence to support your claim. Please make sure you include your name and NI number on everything you send.

    Hello @bgmama3

Welcome to the community! :) I wanted to check in after reading you have new pain relief. Is it working for you? Do you have support around you?

    Hello @Hannah_Scope
Thank you for replying. It's seems to be working better than all the other ones I tried before.
As for support, I have a carer that just started today.  Not much other support and been going though a very difficult time. Currently in temporary accomodation as landlord sold the house my children and I lived in for 10 year. Now in a maisonette on 1st and 2nd floor and struggle to get up and down so mostly stuck indoors. After living in a hotel for a month. I had support where we used to live but now I'm too far away.

Glad they are working better! :)

I am so sorry that you are further away from support and finding it hard to get around your home. I would encourage you to look at a needs assessment. They can help with additional support from shopping to equipment and even home adjustments where possible. I hope the carer helps you too!

Aaah sorry I thought you meant it was given with the patches which I assumed as GP. Have you got an Occupational Therapist?
