I just wanted to share something I did which is not big deal to most but it is to me
I have cut down my alcohol before but my drinking always slowly crept back up over several weeks, but this time I’ve kept it up for 2 months so far…
I’ve been keeping my weekly units in the low 20s (19 a couple of times) which is a bit above the 14 unit guideline (though still within the "old" guideline of 21-28) but a massive improvement on 100+ units and my doctor is very happy with it
However...I’ve still been having something every day, even if it’s only 1 unit like a single measure of whisky
But, on Tuesday I had a completely alcohol free day e.g. 0 units
I’m really pleased with that ![]()

I can't imagine that was easy at all and I'm really impressed you had the willpower and determination to decide to do something and then see it through. You should be really proud of yourself.
