Disabled young person UC

Our son is 17. If he leaves education, I understand that  we would lose the child element of UC.
But would we also lose the disabled child element ? (Highest)

    Unfortunately, yes you would because he would no longer be in full time education. 

    He would be able to claim UC in his own right.
