Good Morning I have been placed in LCWRA group, my decision letter was dated 19th March
I have a few questions
Would I be due backdated payment? I provided my first fit note September 7th. UC payment date is 6th of each month. Which leads me to my next question will the LCWRA element be part of the next payment in April? My next question is will my husband still receive the carer element? He works part time and cares for me the rest of the time. He already receives this element . My final question is as this element is means tested will we be entitled to the full amount? My husband works the same hours each month and we usually end up with around £470 universal credit so would our payment end up closer to £850 . Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hello @missk2024
If your husband is currently entitled to the carer element then he will continue to be so for as long as you are receiving PIP/DLA.
Can I ask if you currently have any children on your claim? I'm wondering if the LCWRA award is now going to entitle you to a work allowance too or whether you already have this.

Your waiting period will be Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan… LCWRA starts from assessment period 1st Jan to 29th Feb and first payment will be 7th March. This means up to now they owe you 1 months LCWRA element. Providing there were no gaps in your fit notes. All elements of UC are means tested so if there’s any deductions for earnings then it will reduce the whole of your UC.
If you’re not claiming child element for your son since you provided your first fit note then you wouldn’t have been entitled to the work allowance. Now you’ve been found to have LCWRA then you will be entitled to the work allowance. If you claim for help with the rent it will be £379/month, if you don’t it will be £631/month. It means you or your partner can receive that amount of earnings each month before the deductions apply. This will apply from assessment period 1st Sept to 30th Sept.
Money owed will be paid separately and often takes quite a few weeks to pay it.1 -
