I’m awaiting a 2nd spine operation in 3 weeks time, I have spinal stenosis and can’t even work atm i need help and support mentally and financial queries in what I can claim, I’ve sent a PIP form off and receive universal credit but wondering if there’s anything else I can claim as financial support sadly is needed atm due to only being on SSP and having high rent and bills etc .

Welcome @charlotte51! Sorry to hear you're struggling with your rent and bills. I'll pop your question over to our Benefits section where more members can find it and offer their advice.
Have you ever used a benefits calculator? They can help you work out whether you're entitled to anything and give you a rough idea of what you could get. There's a couple listed here if you're interested.
I hope your operation goes well and things get a little easier for you soonRosie (she/her)

The only other benefit would be council tax reduction, which can be claimed from your local Authority.Universal Credit has replaced all other benefits. Have you reported your health condition and provided a fit note for this?Once SSP ends if you’ve got the correct NI contributions in the previous 2 tax years then you will be able to claim New style ESA but there’s no financial gain to claiming this at the same time as UC because it’s deducted in full from any UC entitlement.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
