Hi @MartynCC & welcome to the forum.I can understand you feeling down, it is a very big op. I had 3-4-5 spinal fusion coming up 32 years ago, then had another two.Obviously, it needs doing & things have moved on since I had mine. Try & keep upbeat, as once done & you're into your recovery, it should be the end of the pain for you, don't rush it though.I wish you well & a pain free future.

Hi @MartynCC welcome to the forum. I'm sorry I havnt had that op. Is that the operation you will be having? I can understand you feeling down, the surgeons will be highly skilled in your operation.
I wish you the best for your op. To distract yourself join in with the conversations here and games and make some virtual freinds.1 -

Here's hoping it's a good sign, @MartynCC, even with a different surname.Hope the meeting goes well, just a pointer, not to teach you to suck eggs. Any things on your mind about the op & proceeding with the op, make notes now, so you remember to ask them when you see him.Good luck to you & do come back & say how it went.2

Well Thursday meeting with spinal surgeon went OK.. He had a change of plan after seeing the CT scan. I'm no longer having a cage fitted .He is now removing part of the spine at the back and replacing it with steel rods . Im a lot happier that he is not going in through the front of my neck . It will just be at the back of the neck.. so pre op in a few weeks and all being well a date for operation . he has pushed me up the list as its quite serious but still going to be three months . keep you posted .
