If you're anything like me, you might be having a Spring clean out and wondering what to do with your pre-loved things. If so, why not consider donating it to one of Scope's shops and turn your pre-loved into re-loved.

I'm currently having a spring clean and going through clothing I don't or hardly wear anymore. I would love to donate it to scope however there is no scope shop anywhere near me, we have other charity shops but not a scope unfortunatley which is a shame as its my favourite charity after being a member of this forum for years and recieving so much help and support.

@rubin16 have you had a look to see if there is a Scope clothing bank near you instead? My nearest shop is 12+ miles away but there's a clothing bank round the corner from my house. There should be an option on the search to include clothing banks in the results.

Oh just checked now the nearest one to me is 3 miles away, still abit too far. I think to do my bit for this community and contribute I will give scope a donation or regular donation if I can monthly. I only currently have one monthly donation with WWF for sponsoring elephants but could afford to do another one to help out abit more. This forum has been a life line to me over the years and I would like to give back some way

It's a shame there isn't one more accessible to you @rubin16, but we appreciate the thought and support. I'm glad we've been able to be there for you over the years and thank you for the kind words about the community!1

Its only right after all the support and help I have received. Its just a shame I couldn't donate to the shop itself but I hope this makes up for it.

I'm in the same position as rubin16 - sadly the Scope shop in my nearby town closed down a few years ago. My son had previously donated hundreds of secondhand books (when he had an antiquarian & secondhand bookshop) as he knew how much Scope mattered to me, but sadly there were way too many charity shops in the town which possibly led to it's demise.Incidently, well at least for me, I didn't find 'The Great Donate' link worked too well; I put in the name of my town & county, & the link using 'charity shops' told me that Torquay was a mere 80 miles away from me in Yorkshire! Just tried again & apparently my town & county don't exist....as apparently it couldn't find a town matching my location.Using my 'current location' was, as ever, skewed, tho a tad more accurate, tho there isn't a Scope shop less than half a mile from me. Using my postcode was completely accurate, so perhaps a suggestion unless others find the link does in fact work for them.0

There aren't any Scope shops or banks within 30 miles of my location.
I'm sure there were some locally pre-2019. Guess they must have closed down since.0 -
Question
I think I've asked this before but either not found an answer or can't remember
I'm a non-income tax payer so Scope can't Gift Aid my donation...is there any reason I'm not allowed to pass money onto a taxpayer and have them donate the money, so Scope can claim the 25% extra?
Or has that loophole been closed up by the tax man?1 -

Pretty sure you can do that, just the donation has to be in the tax payers name so they can claim the gift aid. I don't see why you couldn't do that though. I'm the same and can't gift aid at the moment which is a shame.
