– that’s right – a colourised video from 1896
I find it absolutely astounding that the technology exists to obtain this quality from an original 129 year old B&W film taken by the Lumiere brothers.
The snowball fight is amazing as are the vehicles
How many of the kids shown – died in WW1 (18 years AFTER this was filmed), how many died from the Spanish Flu epidemic ?
Nobody is making rude gestures/bunny ears or even waving - because nobody knew what was going on.....Can you imagine what would happen if someone recorded everyday life today - what people would do ... ? "Oh yes they do"..........
