Hi , i have been awarded lcwra and was wondering when i will get the extra money as im struggling with bills right now , i reported my first fit not on the 20th november 2023 but the date was from the 15th november , then no gaps until present time , i was sent the message saying i was given lcwra on the 29 feb 2024 , my assesment period is 28th to the 29th i believe and i normally get payed the uc on the 6th each month

I have tried asking on my journal but it has gone unanswered for 21 days so far

There’s a full 3 month assessment period waiting time. The extra money is then paid from the 4th month after you provided your first fit note. First payment is then at the end of that month. The LCWRA element isn’t paid at all during the waiting period.

Your waiting period will be Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan, Jan/Feb… LCWRA starts from assessment period 29th Feb to 28th March and first payment will be 5th April. No LCWRA element is owed. 

You need to check your next statement to make sure the element is included.

Please note, my advice assumes you’re not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim.

Thank you poppy , i thought this was the case but i have not heard anything at all from them apart from the original letter telling me i was entitled to the lcwra.

I wouldn't expect you to have heard anything until it appears on your statement. Have you checked this months statement? You should have received that by now, unless it's late this time due to the easter weekend.
