Hey @Paul79, I have Crohn's disease, I also had (have?) IBS before I had Crohn's. I definitely still get some issues even when in remission. Certain foods I still cannot eat in remission, and they can even trigger a flare.
For the remission symptoms, for me it's really about diet control. I find out what foods are more likely to cause the problems and then avoid them. For instance I no longer eat any red meat. Sure I do miss having a nice steak now and then, but I've accepted it's better than the problems it causes. I tend to also have to be very careful with the amount of bread I eat. It's not actually the gluten, it's the amount of fibre. Gluten free bread is actually worse for me because it usually has more fibre!
Are you in contact with your local IBD team and talked to them about your issues even while in remission at all?1 -
I have crohn's disease and IBS, I also have to be careful what I eat otherwise it'll trigger a flare and I'm on medication for my IBS (Mebeveline) which helps manage it and stops the cramping pain. For me eating anything spicy or has spice in it can trigger a flare, I have to be careful on not too much dairy food too.

I currently take mebeveline regulary for my IBS which seems to help wonders. Maybe its something you could discuss when you see the IBD Team, but you can be put on medication for it which stops the IBS cramping. All the best.1
