You normally receive backpay first before award letter comes sometimes and before your first payment. If I had a guess this would be your backpay.

Thanks. Have checked and it is back pay. I’m not happy with decision. As they have not given me anything for mobility. I can hardly walk due to the amount of tissue taken from my inner thigh . I have nerve damage and lynphadema due to stage 3 melanoma. Also suffer ptsd1

Was this the initial decision @bobby1? If you feel your award is incorrect the appeals process is still available to you. You can write up a Mandatory Reconsideration asking what you think is incorrect about the decision and giving reasons why.
If that is still unsuccessful then there is the tribunal appeal stage.
We have an advice page on appealing decisions here: Appealing a DWP decision | Disability charity Scope UK. There are also links on the page that can help find you support with it.
I do feel I have to mention that they could lower the award with the Mandatory Reconsideration stage, but there is always the appeals process which is handed by the courts, not by the DWP.

thank you I will have a look at doing that0

Hi, you should be aware , as others on this forum can attest to, that challenging the award through MR and tribunal can be a very lengthy and often at times stressful business with no guarantee of the award being raised.bobby1 said:thank you I will have a look at doing
However if you genuinely feel that you should have been awarded a higher rate, then the steps are there to challenge.
A search through some of the posts will throw up lots of info on the process, timeline and often the decision ( for better or worse).
You should also be aware that MR’s are routinely turned down so you would have no other option after that than going the tribunal route.
Good luck moving forward

I’ve got a payment of £699.16 coming through. Would this be a back payment?0

If it’s a first time claim then money owed is paid first. Then about 4 weeks later you will receive your first 4 weekly payment.rhearooxox said:I’ve got a payment of £699.16 coming through.
