Scoliosis help

I need a little help.  I have scoliosis, I underwent surgery twice, once to install two bars and a few years later they were removed due to the pain that a screw was causing in my spine.  I still have lumbar scoliosis and severe lordosis.  I have my limitations and they are not few, as well as recent back pain.  But now I came across another problem.  I am a foreigner living in the UK, and the operations were carried out in my country of birth.  I've been to the GP several times, as well as occupational therapy at work because of the pain.  Yesterday I went to the GP and requested a medical report containing my entire clinical history of operations, with all the documentation translated to request the PIP and the GP's response that they cannot make a medical report because they would not be valid once that I didn't do anything in this country.  How can I resolve this situation.
Thank you

Hi @Papoila, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you've had trouble getting your medical report, that sounds really frustrating. I'm not sure why they say it won't be valid in this instance, but this isn't something I've got much experience with I'm afraid. Hopefully some of our members might be able to offer some better advice than I can on that.

But with regards to your PIP claim, while reports and evidence can be helpful for PIP, it's often more about giving examples of how your conditions affect you in your day-to-day activities. You may not need evidence of all the operations you've had in the past to make a claim. If you felt it would be helpful, you could include any evidence from the GP and Occupational Therapy appointments you've had in this country that might detail your conditions and how they affect you.

If you can give detailed examples of how your conditions affect you to match the descriptors on the form, they should be able to consider your claim from that. But I hope our lovely members can also offer some more of their experiences and advice about whether you can obtain your records in another way :)
