How long for a decision?

Had my work capability assessment on Tuesday, it lasted an hour (is this normal). How long do people wait on average until they find out a decision from the DWP? Will this be via letter or posted on the journal? Really struggling with health at the moment terrified of an incorrect decision.

Perfectly normal for it to be that length. Some have decisions quite quickly for UC and others wait much longer.Once a decision is made a letter will be uploaded onto your journal. UC is a digital claim so no letters are sent through the post when you have access to a journal.0

Hi @ronaldo89, well done for getting through your Work Capability Assessment. The amount of time these assessments take can vary quite a lot from person to person, but an hour is normal
As Poppy says, it varies quite a lot between cases how long it takes to get a result, so it's difficult to say when you'll hear back. Some people get them fairly quick, others are waiting a number of weeks, so try not to worry if you don't hear back right away. But I hope you're not waiting too long and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that you get the result you're hoping for.0
