Carers Allowance backdate question

I care for my daughter who 16 I applied for dla last July but was only awarded it end of February 2024 I've now applied for careers I've put in my claim I've been caring for her since July 2023 but only got awarded her dla in February but was back dated to July will inreveive careers back dated to July 2023 as I didn't hear back of them till February this year agreeing she eas entitled and they back dated it

Providing you qualified for it at the time her claim started from then yes it will be backdated to that date. Are you claiming any other benefits at all, if so which ones exactly?0

Then the Carers allowance will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement so there's no financial gain to claiming it. You can claim Carers element of UC providing you're not also claiming the LCWRA element for yourself because both elements can't be paid to the same person.
You also need to report the changes to UC (assuming you're still receiving the child element for her) then your UC will include the disabled child element. If her DLA includes high rate care then you'll be entitled to the higher element, otherwise it will be the Lower element.
