My wife has a sick note for limited work and is self employed.
At an appointment with uc last week they arranged a follow up appointment for the beginning of may where they want some form of proof from the doctor for how much work she can carry out.
Is this something a doctor will provide for this staying hours etc??

A fit note isn’t proof that you have limited capability for work. Has she reported her health condition? By doing this and providing fit notes she would be referred for a work capability assessment. However, if her earnings are more than 16xNMW per week then they will not refer her unless she’s claiming a disability benefit such as PIP/ADP or DLA.As self employed if she’s found to be gainfully self employed then minimum income floor will apply after the 12 months grace period, unless she’s either claiming carers element or found to have either LCW or LCWRA. A letter from her GP will not exclude her from this.0
