Times you were really lucky or unlucky? Or both??

I was reading about the two atom bombs dropped on Japan in WW2 and that there were dozens of people who survived the first bomb in Hiroshima and went to another city called Nagasaki. I decided to remember that if ever I feel unlucky one day...
However, a result of this is that there is at least one known instance of someone surviving two atomic bombs. Seeing as each bomb caused around 100,000 deaths I can't decide if I think he is incredibly lucky if that makes sense in a perverse way?
Anyway it made me want to ask this to the forum ...
Apart from obvious stuff like becoming disabled or meeting your partner or whatever (unless there's an interesting story attached of course!!) are there any times where you felt you were either really lucky or unlucky? Or both at once?!

Good question! And going back years. My Dad had had tests at the hospital. It was a worry. Results came back all clear. Set the tone for the whole week. I nipped in the co op, bought a lottery ticket and won a tenner! Never win anything usually. But that particular week I'd have been more surprised if we hadnt😁1

I tend to be amazingly unlucky in some aspects of life, which I often joke about. The funniest one currently is my lack of luck with home delivery services. I order one thing and usually receive something totally different. It's turned into an ongoing joke.

But I can also be very lucky. A few years back Amazon had a competition for vouchers, I ordered a couple of small items (via small businesses) so I could get entered into the draw and walked off with 4 wins. It equalled about £300 in Amazon vouchers!

One incident comes to mind ...
Unlucky when felling a tree and the gang before us had left a hanging tree on it ... whoomp.
Thought I was dead when it hit. Wished I was when I came round. Lucky in that the length of branches on it absorbed some of the weight.
Lucky in the free helicopter ride and lucky in only severe muscle damage.
Unlucky on discharge. Wife ran me a bath, popped out for "10 minutes" ... 3 hours later I was still stuck on my hands and knees in a freezing cold bath. I didn't dare shout at her in case she left me there
But at least she had a nice time in the pub with friends ...

well i came close once to winning the lottery, around 1996... i do 2 lines and i got 3 numbers on each line, so instead of winning 40 mill, i won £20, looking back now i'm glad i didn't win it then as i was in my early 20's and had really no idea about money. i still do the same numbers1
