Hi
My husband works and I’m a care for him cause of that, I have to pay council tax this is way too much for us. We’re struggling even paying the council tax and we have two kids that depend on us. I wanted to stop the carers allowance does that mean the Job Centre will be calling me to go to work

Hi Runa
i am not quite sure but I think that is how it works. Yes i think they will want you to look for work.0 -
Why do you want to stop claiming carers allowance? What other benefits do you and your partner claim exactly?
Have you applied for council Tax reduction? Although I can't give any advice on that because all local Authorities have their own rules but you can still apply. Whether there's any entitlement will depend on your circumstances.0 -
Heya @runa and welcome to the community.
I can see you're already receiving help, but I just wanted to say hi and to let you know I've moved your discussion to the benefits category, so more people will be able to find it if they're having the same problem. I hope that's ok?0 -
Thank you for helping Me, the more help, I get butter for me.0
