Hi,
I was wondering I was getting carers allowance for my husband, we was both on universal credit, but now I’ve gone over to new state pension, and now the carers has stopped, but the letter from carers said I could be entitled to a underlined entitlement as my pension overlaps with careers allowance.we both get pip, I’d be gratefull for any help anyone could give as I’m really confused as do I have to wait for my husband to get state pension as well.

The underlying entitlement will apply to Pension Credit only. If you are still claiming UC because you're a mixed aged couple then your UC should still include the carers element.
Carers allowance was just deducted in full from any UC entitlement so there was never any financial gain to claiming it anyway. You do not need to claim carers allowance to be entitled to carers element of UC.
The only time you won't be able to claim it is if you're also claiming the LCWRA element for yourself because the same person can't receive both elements at the same time.0 -
Thank you it’s like a mine field all this, and confusing.0
