Hello, this is sensitive so please be kind.
Me and my now ex have recently split,
I currently live with under his roof, I have no income as we didn’t qualify for UC due to earnings, I’m unable to work due to ill health, I’m trying to get a house so I can move and then claim.
Am I able to claim anything whilst I’m living here and trying to find somewhere?
I don’t have family that I can move in with as they are all deceased nor do I have friends.

It is possible to claim UC while still living with a former partner. However, you will need to tell them you are still living there until you find somewhere else to live. They may ask you to prove that you are living as a single person. For example, paying your own bills, bank account in your own name, rather than shared. Is the house you live in owned or rented?0

Thankyou for your response, It’s owned by him.I have my own bank account and bills in my own name0

Then I'd advise you to start a claim and be honest. You will need to report your health condition and provide a fit note within 7 days of that. You will not be able to claim for help with any rent while you're living in that house.
May I ask if you're married? and the house is definitely not in your name?0 -
No I’m not married, I only moved in 1 year ago. The house is in his name it was given to him after his father passed away, it’s on his dad’s will too. I’ve got my name on the council list and on priority0
