Hi again Poppy
You know and I know I do get confused with all this lol and in exactly 3 days going be claiming SP
Is it only those on pension credit that can claim for Severe Disability Premium ? I was just wondering if there is any additional help for those of us re health etc that were/are on working age contribution based benefits soon to take the leap to SP please ? Thank you Poppy

No, it’s not just pension credit that can include the SDP. It’s working age benefits too such as Income Related ESA/JSA and Income Support.I know your ESA is currently the old contributions based, which was stated in your thread here https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/116869/pension-age-looming#latest
As I advised in that thread it’s possible to claim the income Related top up but whether there’s any entitlement for you will depend on how much your spousal maintenance is per week because it reduces it £1 for £1. The same will apply for pension credit.
To claim the top up for ESA you will need to ring them to ask to be assessed. They will send you the ESA3 form to fill in and return. I posted a link to that form in your other thread.0 -

Hi Poppy, hope you are well.
I really don't want to ask this for fear of the answer. I shouldn't make things worse for myself by reading posts re pensions etc but I do lol.
Anyway I just read a post about someone changing from ESA to SP and they asked if that would in anyway prompt a PIP review ? the answer freaked me out a bit as it said it possibly would, that's if I read it right. I am on enhanced for both and my last assessment concluded in an ongoing award, so ten years I think. I don't think any end date was noted at all. Do I need to prepare Poppy ? I have at least 3 years left if its ten years.
Thank you Poppy as always x0 -
No, it will not prompt a review of your PIP. Yes, ongoing is 10 years for PIP.1
