I was looking at the application and it asks if you’ve been out of the country in the last two years, I was wondering why this question is asked ?
for me it would be not but I thought it an odd question.

Trying to read more about how this migration works if hugely headache inducing!

That’s related to the habitual residence test. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/getting-benefits-if-youve-recently-moved-to-the-UK/UC is complicated and confusing. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have or you can read my guide that I completed here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/110560/uc-managed-migration-guide#latest0

You're welcome. When claiming UC you are allowed out of the country for up to 1 month. However, if you're a job seeker then you will be expected to continue with your commitments while away.0
