Hi i make a joint claim with my husband for universal credit.i also get DLA. Could my husband claim DLA for himself also

When you say you claim DLA, is this Disability Living Allowance? Or is this the Daily Living part of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)?
If your husband wants to apply for a disability-related benefit, it would likely need to be for PIP rather than DLA as DLA is being gradually replaced. PIP is claimed individually, so if he is eligible his claim would be separate to your DLA, and it won't affect your joint Universal Credit claim as a couple.0 -
For the avoidance of doubt, DLA has already been replaced by PIP because no new claims can be made for those aged between 16 and state pension age. Some people still claim DLA because they haven't yet been invited to apply for PIP, even though PIP was introduced more than 10 years ago.Rosie_Scope said:DLA is being gradually replaced.
