Lcwra backpayment

Hello, I had a car accident in February 2022 and started providing fit notes regularly (sometimes there are gaps so they call me and remind me to ask the gp for new sick notes) each fit note expires in 2 or 3 months. anyway I kept uploading notes until I received letter in April 2024 saying that I have lcwra. But in the letter they said (your extra lcwra will not include any back payments for the relevant period , if we owe you some money because of that decision we will tell you when you will get them) what does that mean? Should not I be eligible for back payments? As it took 2 years providing fit notes. Thank you

Do you know when will I receive payments?0

The relevant period is known as the waiting period before then LCWRA element is paid. This is 3 full assessment periods starting from when you provided your first fit note. It's then paid from the 4th month with first payment being the end of that month.
When it's paid from will depend on the exact date you provided your first fit note and what date you usually receive your money each month.
However, gaps in fit notes can affect when the extra money is paid from and it will be down to a decision maker to make that decision on whether to accept the gaps or not. How many gaps were there and for how long?1 -
So there was one or maybe two gaps. Each time it took few weeks until I get new sick note that covers 2 or 3 months.

Gaps can affect when the extra money is paid from. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision. They may start the waiting period from when the fit notes were continuous.0

This happened unfortunately, they said your health journal was closed and we accepted the fitnote of February 2024 so your payment will start from may 2024 so i think this won’t include any back payment. Can I ask for appeal or reconsideration?0
-
What reason did they give for it closing? If it was gaps in your fit notes, what gaps exactly were there?0
-
The said: ( the fit note that made you eligible for receiving LCWRA was submitted on the 11/2/24, as your previous health journey closed on the 10/2/24 due to a lack of fit notes) btw I started submitting fit notes in 2022 February. Any way they also said: (This means that you will begin receiving payments for LCWRA from the 11/5/24 onwards, so starting from your next assessment period you will receive the LCWRA allowance as well as your existing standard allowance) does that really happen I mean for a few weeks of gap, a whole history of two years would be deleted?

Your history isn't deleted, it will still be on your journal. They're just telling you that the gaps are not accepted.
I did advise that gaps can affect when the extra money is paid from. You haven't said how many gaps there were and for how long so I can't advise without more information.

The fit note expired on 2 of January 2024 and the deadline (last reminder) was on 23 January 2024 and I had to report health change again in 10 February 2024 and started to submit new fit notes.0

That’s more than a 5 week gap. What was the reason for that? You can ask them if you can provide a fit note for that gap and ask if they would accept that. It would be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.0

I forgot to ask the gp for new fit note. I thought the last sick note I provided was covering 3 months but it was only two months until it expires. Anyway I asked them for reconsideration for that issue and if I can provide fit note that covers this gap0
-
They referred my case for mandatory reconsideration to determine whether my lcwra could be backdated0
-
So I have a question fo you know how long will it take to start the extra payments? After they gave decision of approval of lcwra0
-
If the decision maker doesn't start the waiting period from an earlier date then your first payment for LCWRA would be either June or July. The exact date will depend on what date you usually receive your money each month. No LCWRA element would be owed.0
