Hi, my name is Helly66! Can anyone please help with advice on clearing debt?

I have been working as a nurse on nights for nearly 40 years. I have had enough of working, I'm severely depressed all the time and suffer terribly with fybromyalgia. Unfortunately I have a lot of debt (approx 18,000) I receive PIP of nearly £600. Per month but this isn't enough to cover my monthly outgoings.  I'm desperate and desperately unhappy. Can anyone please help with advice on clearing debt so that I can retire due to ill health?

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with debt, but the link Poppy has left may be of some use to you, there's also Step Change who are very good. Have you looked at a benefits calculator, to make sure you're claiming what you can?
