Finding housing in Greater London

Hi all,

My name is Eloïse, and I am hoping to move somewhere in the west of London for work: I would be working in Feltham. I am a manual wheelchair user, and I am having a lot of trouble finding any sort of housing: I could in theory make something "accessible" work for me, even if it is not perfectly adapted, but I am not even seeing those options at the moment.

Does anyone have any advice? I do not know any other wheelchair users, and have not seen to many resources online. I cannot join any of the housing registers/lists of the councils, as I currently do not live there: I am moving from Scotland.

I would appreciate any advice or help: maybe people have had similar experiences? Could you tell me how you ended up finding housing? I need to move somewhere, at the very latest end of July. I have no family in the UK. I am feeling increasingly hopeless about the whole situation, so any advice would be welcome.

All the best, and thank you in advance for any responses.

Eloïse

Heya @e_ward and welcome to the community. :)

I'm not an expert on housing unfortunately, but I'll move your discussion over to the housing category, so more people in the know will be able to find it and hopefully someone will be able to offer some support. I hope that's ok?

Hi Eloise, have you tried to register for social housing directly with Hounslow Council?

You will have a connection to the area because you've been offered a job there.
