Yay
I apologise for making a self-gratifying post but I wondered if anyone wanted to share any good things they have done to help themselves recently, however small they may seem to others??
As of yesterday I just had 2 “alcohol free days” in a row for the first time in several years which I am really pleased with. I am routinely staying well within the 14 units a week government limit now as well but I’m probably on track to have under 10 this week now. The best thing I think is I’m no longer resisting having what is tempting me, I’m actually having as much as I want, I just don’t want as much in the first place
Also I weighed myself and was under 100 kg for the first time in 10 years which I am super happy with, this time exactly 1 year ago I was 135kg, I need to be about 85kg so well on the way
If anyone wants to share stuff they have done I would really like to hear it!!!!!! It doesn’t matter if it’s something that you think others would find easy or small, if it’s an achievement for you then it’s significant

You're doing so well @66Mustang I'd be singing that from the rooftops! I found my want to drink alcohol faded over time, despite having it in the house. A lot of it is getting out of the routine and you're doing amazingly with it. I now only drink if I'm at a pub, or social gathering, which happens about every 3 months.
I'm all about people celebrating their victories, no matter how small they may feel to you, they may be huge to someone else and may be a great source of strength to those in the same position.0 -
@66Mustang
Oh wow you’re doing amazing with your weight loss 👏👏 super proud of you and as for how much you have cut down on alcohol is fantastic.
You should be be telling everyone as it’s a massive achievement, and it gives others the encouragement they might just need.I feel I have been pushing myself more lately like taking my grandkids more as it helps me move about more and not just sit about. Plus I obviously love to see them.
Ive started walking a bit again as i couldn’t walk that far after my knee op. So it’s baby steps for me just now but I’m getting there.
Thanks for your great post. 😊

Fantastic work on the weight loss @66Mustang, what a great achievement! And sounds like you're doing really well with your alcohol intake too, well done!
I've had an issue with my wrist for a long time, but I've been doing exercises every day and I'm managing to do some piano practice again which is nice. I'm usually not all that good at sticking to doing exercises so I'm pretty happy I've finally managed to see some progress. I'm also getting better at playing while other people are in the house, I used to be too self conscious to do that a while back!
It's so nice to read about everyone's progress

Absolutely nothing wrong with sharing your positive achievements @66Mustang . I think its really inspiring to hear other people's good news and personally find it lifts my spirits and motivates me.
Something that might appear small to others but is big for me has been journalling and setting aside 30 mins of my day to write or draw. It's therapeutic for me but I often miss days or weeks where I don't do it. I've been keeping to it recently 👍

Well done mate.
Nothing wrong with blowing your own trumpet when you're proud of something.
Big big achievement with the weight and I know how difficult going 'dry' even for a couple of days can be, so kudos to you.
One thing I found when I stopped drinking for good was how the weight fell off. Could be extra incentive ?
I'm proud of nearly finishing revamping my garden. It's taken 6 weeks when once upon a time it would have taken 3 days but strangely more satisfying for the extra effort (sleepless nights ) to get it done0 -
Well done @66Mustang that's a great achievement your doing so well, all tho lengthy walks are doing you some good too.0
