Review form

Hello just looking for abit of advice regarding my review form I received yesterday for pip, it's due back by 6th June, I've had a look through it, that's as far as ive got at the moment, most of it for daily living is the same, so I was going to put no change, but on the mobility side of things, the issues I have with my legs and back pain has worsened over the past year, I had a second injection for the leg pain a few months ago, which had zero effect and in a week and half I'm having spinal surgery, and been told full recovery could be anything up to a year to be back at base line,
these forms couldn't of come at a worse time really as I feel I've either got to rush to get them done before surgery or will need extra time, I'm not sure.
And on answering the questions about how far I can walk or use of aids, i can walk but I'm in constant pain, i don't as yet use any aids put I do have to stop and rest alot, I'm wondering how to word it all and what box to tick on the distance of been able to walk, it's all abit overwhelming,
Also I wanted to add, my claim went to tribunal they had awarded me 10 for daily living and 4 for mobility and it runs out next January 2025 but had the review forms now.

Please do not just put no change and nothing else. Even more so because you had to take your current award to a Tribunal. If you put no change, what you're actually saying is that there's been no change since DWP made their last decision.

All claims should be treated as a new claim and you should put as much relevant information as possible. Include a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were. Ideally you should give at least 2 examples per descriptor that applies to you. Use extra sheets of paper because there's very limited space in the form.

Make sure you include your name and NI number to everything you send. They very rarely contact anyone for any evidence so please bear that in mind too.

If you need extra time you can ring them to ask and they will give an extra 2 weeks.

I can't tell you what you should write because I don't know how your conditions affect you. Please also take into consideration that for PIP if you can't do something safely, repeatedly, in a reasonable time and to an acceptable standard then you're treated as not being able to do It at all. It's the majority of days that count, so at least 50% of the days in a 12 month period.

There are extremely long delays for review decisions for the majority of people so you could be waiting a considerable length of time for a decision. Some members are still waiting a year after returning their form. Your current award will continue until a decision is made on the review.

Just had this text is it just standard message? I certainly wouldn't be able to do an assessment anytime soon I'm still in hospital at the moment and recovery will be a long time yet.

What are the chances they will just do it paper based?

    Thanks

It's a standard text and means exactly what it says. Review decisions are taking a very long time for a lot of people so you could be waiting a considerable length of time. Some are still waiting a year after returning their form.

Most people have assessments which are mostly by telephone. Paper based assessments are rare but possible.

I'm sorry to hear you're in hospital and hope you feel a little better soon.
