Putting both feet in
Has anyone ever tried to say something to make someone feel better, or as a compliment, only for it to backfire or make the situation worse??
Does anyone have any entertaining examples??
A family member the other day was talking about having cosmetic surgery and asked what people thought. When it was my turn to answer I just said if you have the money and it makes you happy then surely it’s up to the individual.
They then asked what I’d specifically do… I like to be diplomatic but I don’t like to lie to people either
So I said, if I felt such that my self-worth was defined by the size of a certain body part, I’d spend the money on talking therapy instead
I meant it in a way that this person looked nice as it was, they don’t need to do anything silly!!! However it came across differently
