I was suppose to have my review 2 years ago, it got extended for a year. Now I had my assessment for the review 17th April 2024. They have completed review and awaiting letter. They have increased my pip with now standard mobility added which I only had daily living at first. Now they are saying I'm not due a back payment, surely it should be back dated when they wanted the review done in the first place

Usually when it’s a review started by DWP they do not backdate it to an earlier time.If you rang them to report changes which prompted more forms to be sent out then yes it will be from the date you rang to start your claim. However, due to the waiting times for review decisions a decision maker will use their own discretion and sometimes (not always) they may award from an earlier time. Some members have been owed but most are not.0

Heya @samluff and welcome to the community.
Great news about your PIP review, I bet you must be relieved? As Poppy has said, it's often down to the decision makers if they award backpay for reviews, mainly because the waits are so long.0 -
I think that's so wrong, they shouldn't really ask people for early reviews as it. But according to citizens advice they do0

Also my health has worsen since my review was requested0

They already send forms out 8 months before your award is due to end. There’s been huge delays for more than 3 years for review decisions.0

Even if your health conditions have worsened since they asked for the review. So I was being paid 290 now they have added mobility0
