hello, I was wondering after winning pip tribunal, how long it takes for Dwp to pay into my account what they owe me from the start of my claim. Thank you

Heya @Harrisonfield and welcome to the community. :)

I'm guessing congratulations are in order with your PIP?

It can take a few weeks for them to calculate and pay any back pay if owed. But it usually appears in your account before the letter explaining it all arrives.

thank you and yes I won eventually after 16 months. I’ve waited 5 weeks now so hopefully not too much longer

Oh that's amazing news @Harrisonfield the waiting is often the worst part of it all! Hopefully it should drop in your account soon. 😁

Up to about 8 weeks, sometimes longer after a Tribunal win for them to put the award into payment and pay what is owed.

Well done on your win. I've also recently been successful at tribunal. I've waited 4 weeks so far but when I called the PIP phone line recently they said there was a 5 week wait. But as others have said they, it can take 8 weeks.

I'd love to know how many appeals go to tribunal which makes the DWP response to the outcomes so slow! It's a pity they don't acknowledge receipt of the tribal decision so we're not left hanging for so long.

I know exactly, why such a long wait, as if we haven’t waited long enough from the beginning of application! I can’t believe the process of it all, I have ms and obviously the evidence to prove this and yet it’s still such a long and stressful process. I’m hoping it drops in my bank soon

Fingers crossed it comes soon. You should have some back dated payment to come too.

I completely agree. It's a very long drawn-out process. Hopefully not much longer now.

My timeline is very similar to yours. I first applied end of January 2023. I did receive an award at a lower amount initially so I have been receiving some PIP since summer 2023 but I recently won my appeal for a higher amount.

Hang in there. Hopefully not much longer now.

@Harrisonfield have you heard anything? I've just had a lump sum appear in my bank. A nice surprise for a Friday afternoon. Just over 4 weeks since my tribunal 🙂

Hope it comes soon for you. Have you been receiving any PIP before or week third be your first time? I'm wondering if that's a possible reason mine came through sooner. I've been receiving some PIP but at tribunal I won my appeal for a different level
