Hello to the scope online community

I hope you are well on the wonderful sunny Saturday afternoon

I have an idea to write small poetry books with my little draws and put a free online platform for anyone to read ideas of a free platform where do this because publishing costs too much money and is too much of a headache because my disability benefits may be affected is this true because what read online

And has anyone here in the online community got a book published?

And I look forward to the online community whether you this idea or to leave it well alone. I look forward to receiving your comments and advice.

Many thanks in advance

Globster

    There are quite a few websites that are free to set yourself up on. I know some people use wordpress or blogger as two examples!

    I think it'd be really interesting @Globster, I love reading your poetry here 😄

    Amazon will publish books for free and they take a flat rate of 30% or something

    I think it usually works out better if you plan on selling a few dozen or hundred books, and more expensive than going self-published only if you are like a bestselling author!!

    I meant to say this is just on Kindle, not hard copies

    Good luck @Globster

    The one thing you might want to look into is certain income (like pensions) is treated as "unearned" income - despite being very much earned - and you lose certain benefits equal to 100% of the amount of "unearned income"

    I don't know if royalties from books would be considered earned or unearned income but maybe someone else could advise you there 😊

    @66Mustang

    I will look into the things mentioned in your comment and I will ask someone about royalties books. I am very curious about doing this because I lost my disability benefits

    @Globster

    Just worth checking when it comes to any income-related benefits you might be getting, like ESA or Universal Credit

    You shouldn't lose your PIP, even if you become a bestseller ☺️ you of course still have the same disability, regardless of how much money you have
