Snobbery

Just a fun/silly question but is anyone willing to admit to being a snob when it comes to anything??

It doesn't have to involve expensive things, just anything where you are biased toward one particular thing within a certain area for no real logical reason

For example if you only like a certain type of something and don't really have a proper reason why (for example coffee from a certain country) I would say that can be classed as a snobbery

An example is I am partial to a car with a big engine. It doesn't have to be expensive, in fact I would choose the cheaper car if that came with the bigger engine. I know modern small engines are fast with modern technology but for me "there is no replacement for displacement"

coffee for me, I love going neros coffee shop as its strong. Costa I end up having extra shots to make it equal

I use a nespresso their coffees are strong I also use a milk frother so it comes out like the coffee shops. I only buy instant iintense Dark roast in instant coffee. It's lovely with the frother

I thought the definition of snobbery was doing something to feel superior to other people? Not just a personal preference?

It can mean that @OverlyAnxious but there is also another use that is akin to it, where essentially you are "a snob for X", which means you think it is more superior than similar products and so you pick it over all others whenever you can.

Something along those lines I think is what Mustang means 😀

Hmm, I suppose for me I am very picky about which brands I use for my computer. All the peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headset) would nearly always be Corsair, but I had a bad experience with one of their mice which has put me off a little.

i guess with me it is the choice of 4k blu ray or ordinary blu ray over dvd, 4k is the best followed by blu ray, just personal preference for me, i'm a physical media snob, lol

Stationery. I just have a thing for it. I have a preference for certain paper and pens. It's not necessarily expensive stuff, but it has to have a certain feel or flow that others don't. I have my very favourite ones neatly put away that I prefer so much that I hardly use them!!😂 If I have to fill in a form at a reception desk and am handed a dodgy pen I will use my own. However, if it is a nice flowing pen..........🤭
