Not sure anyone here can advise me but I’m in a mess, I’m living with my ex partner the only income I have is my PIP.
He owns the house it’s in his name from his dad’s death.
I’m trying to move out but getting declined due to one CCJ that I actually didn’t know was a CCJ till the landlord of a property I applied for did a search. (The CCJ was issued after I’d started paying the debt).

Ex partner is an alcoholic which is one of the reason we have split I’m really unhappy and it’s having a negative affect on my mental health.

Will the council help home me? I also have a child from a previous relationship.

Hi @bruno12, I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this. Have you contacted your local council at all? You can apply to go on the social housing register, though in many places it could be a long time before something is available.

Is there anybody you know who could be a guarantor for you somehow?

You can read up more about renting with a poor credit history here: https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/private_renting/how_to_rent_with_a_poor_credit_history

Shelter are also a general housing charity, so you can contact them to see what help could be available, as their advice is specialised towards helping with housing: https://england.shelter.org.uk/get_help

I've had to rent before with a CCJ when I was younger, I know it is difficult, but I was able to sort a place out eventually.

I may also be popping you an email later, so please do look out for it!

    Thankyou for your response.

I am currently sat filling the application online for the council.

I do have a guarantor whom passed the search but the landlord said no due to there Insurance.

I will contact them tomorrow as they are closed today. I’ll have a read through the links you’ve sent me Thankyou.
