Help planning home adaptations

Hi all, my son is 3 with cerebral palsy focused on his lower body. We've just reached the point where occupational health are starting to talk about lifts, wet rooms and the like. We feel like we don't know enough about what we need and where it can go to make informed decisions. Are there any groups available that can help us understand what we may need and how that can fit in our floor plan? I know the council will kinda help but I'm getting more of a "we will just do what's needed" vibe than a "let's see how wet can make this work best"

    Two years ago I took the leap and converted half of my garage into a wet room. I couldn't get an OT to assist us, so we employed an architect to come and assess the space we had to work with. This was a lot cheaper than we expected it to be. The architect also recommended builders with experience in retrofitting accessible features like wet rooms. What your council will provide via a Disabled Facilities Grant will depend upon what the OT recommends in their needs assessment.
