Poem
Hey all,
Please let me know what you think of my poem that I have just written.
In the quiet of the night, where shadows dance alone,
Loneliness whispers softly, in a melancholy tone.
A solitary figure, beneath the moon's soft glow,
Longing for companionship, in the depths of woe.
Echoes fill the empty spaces, where laughter used to ring,
Memories fade like twilight, as solitude takes its sting.
The heart, a heavy burden, weighed down by silent cries,
Seeking solace in the darkness, beneath the starlit skies.
Each passing moment stretches, like a never-ending stream,
Lost in the vast expanse, of a solitary dream.
Yearning for connection, in a world so cold and vast,
But finding only silence, in the echoes of the past.
Yet in the midst of solitude, a glimmer still remains,
A spark of hope that flickers, despite the endless plains.
For even in the loneliest hour, there's a light that shines within,
A beacon of resilience, against the tide of sin.
So let the night embrace you, as the stars begin to fade,
For even in the loneliest moments, there's beauty to be made.
And though the road is long, and the journey fraught with pain,
Loneliness will not define you, for love will rise again.

Hurt wraps around my heart so tight,
A shadow veiling day and night,
It whispers secrets to my soul,
A haunting ache I can't control. Its claws dig deep into my mind,
Leaving jagged scars behind,
Memories replay, a ceaseless stream,
Turning hope into a distant dream.Tears trace pathways down my face,
As I yearn for a safer place,
Yet in the depths, a spark remains,
A flicker in the midst of pain. For even in this darkened hour,
Amidst the loss of joy and power,
I hold to love, though faint and small,
A force that breaks the strongest wall. So, let the hurt come as it may,
I'll rise again with each new day,
For from the pain, I will emerge,
Reborn, renewed, through every surge.2 -
A very inspiring poem, we are rather blessed with some good poets in our midst!

In shadows long and whispers low,
Regret, a friend we seldom show,
It lingers where the heart once soared,
And echoes softly, "If I’d known."Beneath the moon's pale, watchful eye,
We trace the paths where dreams did die,
In moments lost, the tears unshed,
Regret replays the words unsaid.A whispered sigh in midnight’s gloom,
It haunts the corners of our room,
The choices made, the roads not taken,
In quiet hours, our hearts awaken. With every breath, a story told,
Of love unclaimed, of courage sold,
In mirrors cracked by time’s cruel jest,
Regret lies heavy on our chest.Yet through the haze, a dawn does break,
A chance anew, a life to make,
For though regret may haunt our days,
It lights the path in unseen ways.In learning from the past's embrace,
We find a gentler, wiser grace,
For in each scar and every sorrow,
Regret can teach a new tomorrow.2 -

Gone from sight, yet ever near, Your absence fills each day with tears. In every shadow, every light,Your memory lingers, burning bright.
No words can mend this broken heart, Nor time erase this aching part. Yet in my soul, your love remains,
A gentle balm for all my pains. Though you've departed, your spirit soars,In whispered winds and ocean roars.
Forever missed, forever dear, Your essence lives, always near.

Queen K.
Where have I been? How could I miss your poems…. Your words reflect what most go through, and really appreciate that you do this without reserve.
Writing poems to me, is my way of coping, since I write what's in my head, and allows me to make sense of the millions of thoughts flashing through my head especially when I can't switch off. Awesome. I've got my eye on you…. in a good way.

Hello @onebigvoice,
I have never shared any of my poems before. I write poems because I feel it is a way of expressing myself. I hope I did not offend you in any way.

The Weight of the World
I am a vessel brimming with unseen tides,A heart racing through the night's dark ride. The weight of the world, unseen but felt,A heavy cloak my shoulders have held.
Thoughts like storm clouds gather and swirl,A tempest within, a chaotic whirl. Each breath a battle, each step a strain,Caught in the downpour of endless rain.
Deadlines loom like ghosts in the dark,Whispering fears that ignite a spark. The clock's cruel hands, they never cease,Stealing away my fleeting peace.
Sleep eludes as worries take flight,Invading dreams, shrouding the night.Tired eyes greet the breaking dawn,Another day, another yawn.
Responsibilities stack, a towering mound,The hum of stress, a relentless sound.Tasks like boulders, rolling down hills,Crushing beneath, demanding wills.
Yet in this storm, I seek a calm,A moment of solace, a healing balm.A breath, a pause, a whispered prayer,To find a light in the heavy air.
For within the chaos, a strength resides,A resilient heart that never hides.Through trials faced and troubles amassed,I stand, I fight, I’ll outlast.

In the heart of home, where memories reside,A tapestry of love, we forever confide.Threads of laughter, woven tight,With strands of comfort in the night.
Mother's gentle touch, a healing balm,Her whispered lullabies, a soothing psalm.Father's steady hand, a guiding star,With wisdom shared, near and far.
Siblings' laughter, a joyous refrain,In fields of play, free from pain.Their secrets whispered, dreams set free,In a world that’s shared, just you and me.
Grandparents' stories, from times of old,With lessons of courage, love so bold.Their wrinkled hands, and eyes so kind,A treasure trove, for us to find.
Through storms we’ve weathered, tears we’ve shed,In the book of life, the pages we’ve read.Yet together we stand, come what may,For family’s love, shall never sway.
In the warmth of hugs, and words so sweet,We find our home, where hearts meet. For in each other, we are whole,A family bound, by soul to soul.
As years roll by, and seasons change,This love we share, will rearrange.Yet deep within, it stays the same,A sacred bond, a cherished flame.
So here’s to family, near and far,Our guiding light, our northern star.In every moment, every day,With love, we carve our own way.

@WhatThe
I wrote all these poems myself. I would never copywrite anything. All these poems I write are meaningful to me.

Beautiful Queen K,
You have an amazing talent. It stirred music for me, immediately I started to hear the music of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne"
It played in my head as I read your words.
Not only are you a budding poet, you're a song writer too. Thank you for moving me so deeply,
Nikkita.

Beneath the veil of twilight's gentle kiss,
Where whispers dance upon the evening air,
A world of dreams unfurls in silent bliss,
And stars like scattered pearls through darkness tear.
The ancient trees, with secrets in their sighs,
Stand guard beside the river's silver flow,
Their leaves, like time, in endless circles fly,
As shadows deepen in the moon's soft glow.
A nightingale's lone song, so pure and bright,
Ascends to touch the heart of all who hear,
Its melody a beacon in the night,
A thread that weaves through memories held dear.
In moments such as these, the soul takes flight,
Transcending bounds of earthly care and pain,
Embracing the eternal, boundless light,
Where love and peace forever shall remain.
