Statutory Sick Pay

I work four shifts a week at 6.4 hours per shift, i am on a zerohours contract and now ive just been signed off sick.
How does SSP work and am I entitled to it?

Are you claiming any other benefits? I see from a previous thread that you were claiming ESA but this must have ended because you're working more than 16 hours per week. Did you claim UC?
For SSP you must have been earning at least £123/week and have been off sick for at least 3 days. See link.

I'm claiming only PIP and and this is my tnird day now of being sick,my wages bring me over this weekly amount.

Is PIP the only benefit you’re claiming? Not Universal credit as well?
Your employer should pay SSP with your earnings being over the amount.

Yes me and my wife both work and have decided that UC isn't right for us as a couple.I also claim PIP independently, as my sole benefit.
