Your PIP will continue as normal and it will just be a change of address.

If you’ll need to claim for help with any rent then you’ll need to claim Universal Credit, which will end any Income Related ESA you’re claiming after 2 weeks.

If in the Support Group for ESA then you’ll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of your claim.

I get esa fortnightly and pip and also my rent paid. So if I was to move in with someone I expect I will loose my housing benifit but if I joined a support group in England would I still get esa and pip. Whi do I contact to make the changes

Is that a partner you’ll be moving in with?

Please also note that any advice I give is based on the information you give. If you don’t give me all the correct information then the advice I give may not be correct.

If you move from N. Ireland to England your housing benefit will end anyway.

Your housing benefit will stop because you will be moving out of the area.

    PIP will not be affected.

Unfortunately I will need even more information before I can advise you further.

Does your partner work or claim benefits? If benefits which ones exactly please. Will you be renting your home in England?

I live i belfast and i get eesa fortnightly and ssa pip once a month and my rent paid. I thinking of moving to enland and living with my partner who is retired and on pensions. I could probably rent a house if it works out better for me

    My partner owns his house

If you moved in with your partner you will need to report the changes to ESA and tell them you're living with your partner. They will then send you a form to fill in and return with both of your details.

If it's state pension they are claiming then this will be deducted from your ESA in full. Same applies if they are receiving any other pension. You will then be entitled to the pensioners premium in your ESA.

If your ESA currently includes the Severe disability benefit then you will lose that unless your partner is either registered blind or is claiming a qualifying disability benefit their self, such as PIP daily living, DLA mid/high rate care or Attendance Allowance.

Whether there's any entitlement to ESA will depend on your exact joint circumstances.

I'd advise you to get a full benefits check from an agency near you because you still haven't given enough of information for me to tell you whether there would be any entitlement to ESA.

You will not be able to claim for help with any rent because your partner owns their own home.

If your partner is claiming Pension Credit then this will stop because you are under state pension age.

If they currently live alone and are claiming single person discount for council tax reduction, this will end.

As for renting a house in England, that isn't going to be very easy because a lot of landlords will refuse a tenant that claims benefits.

My partner as a house he could rent out to me

That could be considered as a contrived tenancy and you may not be able to claim for help with the rent. If your partner owns a house they don't live in and you live together you will be excluded from claiming all means tested benefits. Capital of more than £16,000 excludes you from all means tested benefits.
