Appealing a decision

I have another problem regarding my claim. I've been put into the category which says I will make steps to get into work within the next 2 years (for the limited capability for work assessment). I didn't fully understand the decision, I assumed things would carry on as normal as I was placed in this category before. My advisor said they hadn't really been pushing me ( or anyone else in this category) into work as they were still catching up with applicants because of covid.
My advisor has told me I should appeal this decision. The problem is, I only have until Sunday to do it. I phoned citizens advice, explained things and sent them the pdf file I received on my journal. I was told they would help me with this and I have phoned them several times this week, but the person dealing with my case is always busy.
He told me not to worry about the date as uc are aware of how busy they are with these sorts of cases. However, I still put a note on my journal letting them know I want to appeal it.
I need citizens advice to help me with this as I have agoraphobia and wouldn't obviously wouldn't be able to attend anything in person.
Do I still have a chance of appealing or are they strict about this date?

I’m very surprised the agency helping you didn’t tell you that you actually have 13 months to challenge the decision. If you’re outside of the 1 month timeframe you must tell them why you didn’t request it within that time.
If you haven’t yet requested the Mandatory Reconsideration then this is your first step. This is where a different decision maker will take another look at your claim and come to another decision.
You need to state why you think you should have been found to have LCWRA and which descriptor you think applies to you and why.
If the MR decision doesn’t change then you can proceed to Tribunal.
If it gets to Tribunal stage I’d advise you not to request a paper based appeal because those have a very low success rate. You can request a telephone hearing if you prefer that rather than face to face. Both of those have a much better chance of a decision in your favour.

It'll be one month on Sunday. I only got an appointment with my advisor this week and it only during that appointment that she informed me of what the decision meant.
No one told me I have 13 months, just one month from when the letter/journal message got sent. I did contact UC and I received a message on my journal asking if I want to go ahead with the mandatory reconsideration but I'm not confident doing this myself and would rather have help from citizens advice.
